Elephant Family Play Session
Print Description
Cynthia Moss, the director of the Amboseli Elephant research project, has worked with elephants for over thirty years and probably knows them better than any other person. Here an adolescent female has lain down and its younger relatives have come around and are leaning and rubbing up against her. Cynthia refers to this as elephants being “touchy feely”. It’s an apt description and is wonderful to witness.
