During Amboseli’s long dry season the elephants have to work harder to satisfy their huge appetites.  In the early morning light this family is digging up roots and tubers amongst the classic umbrella trees of the savannah.  The fine alkaline dust envelopes them in the still morning air creating an aura of mystery and timelessness.
