Amboseli’s swamps are fed by run off from Kilimanjaro, Africa’s tallest mountain. Without this water Amboseli would be a dry dusty wasteland dependent on seasonal and unpredictable rains. The swamps act like a magnet and animals come from miles around. Here a large family of elephants is almost at the edge of the swamp and you can sense the anticipation in the posture of each and every one of them.
